Tray cables, specifically those with UL Type TC or TC-ER designations, are designed for use in cable tray systems. TC cables are typically used in power and control applications within industrial settings, while TC-ER cables are designed for exposed runs within the tray. The “ER” designation allows for a limited length of unsupported cable outside the tray
Tray Cables (UL type TC and TC-ER) are used in various control and power of applications and industries where cable tray systems are installed for routing and support. These cables are often exposed, therefore pass more stringent requirements under UL 1277, the standard for power and control tray cables. Proper installations will see 300V rated tray cables separated within the tray from 600V rated tray cables. UL Listings that contain “-ER” permit the cable to exit the cable tray unsupported for a length of six feet. Right Hand Industrial supplies a wide range of flexible tray cable as well as high flexing tray cable including VNTC, TC, TC-ER, PLTC, PLTC-ER, ITC, ITC-ER and WTTC rated cables.
